If you asked 5 year old me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have said a teacher.
If you asked 10 year old me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have said a dancer.
If you asked 15 year old me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have said a fashion buyer.
If you asked 20 year old me what I want to be when I grow up, I wouldn't have an answer.

For ages I beat myself up about not knowing where I want to go with my future. To me it seemed like everyone else had it all planned out - they knew what university course they wanted to do, they knew what career path they wanted to take, they knew all the right steps to make. Then there was little old me, just plodding along.

Truth is, nobody really knows what the hell they're doing or where they want to go, especially at my age. Around your 18-20's you're pressured with so much;

Are you going to go to university?
If not, what job are you going to get?
What career path are you going to take?
Do you know how to get there?
How are you getting money to support yourself?
What are you going to do after you graduate?

Sometimes it all gets a bit too much. For all of our lives up until now we have been used to education, regime, deadlines and authority, and now we're faced with this whole load of freedom and the majority of us don't know what to do with it.

But you've got to realise life is not a race and there's not one set of rules.

Some people will have two kids, some people will have 3.
Some people know what they want to do at 15, some won't realise until they're 40.
Some people will get married at 20, some won't ever get married.

Don't judge how well your life is going compared to other people. We all live life at different paces, which makes it so unique. We're not at school anymore, you don't have anyone telling you what to do and when to do it. Take as much time as you need to figure out whatever it is you need to figure out.

Do what makes you happy because the more happiness you bring into your life, the more content you will be with where you are.

Don't have the mindset of, "Oh all my friends have boyfriends, I need to look for one", or "I want X amount of kids by the age of 30!" The best things in life happen unexpectedly and when you're not looking for them.

Always be content with who you are and what you are doing. It will all work out in the end.
